ENTERPRISE AND LIFE SKILLS

Our in work in Bucaramanga has made it clear that one of the big challenges facing Goals for Peace and it’s young members is how to prepare them for the transition from play and education to providing life skills that will help them in the transition to work. 

We have developed a proven leadership programme where our young people are mentored and receive training in which they are given responsibilities within the foundation. They in turn become mentors for other young people within the foundation.  This Enterprise and Life Skills project focusses on incentivising further education whilst teaching entrepreneurial and vocational skills. Some recent examples have been the development of small craft businesses such as the production of sandals and printed T-shirts using screen printing techniques. Our young people also run a monthly local cinema. The participants are involved in the entire process from conception to delivery in all these enterprising initiatives.
